The Posse

The proper definion of "posse" is "a body or force armed with legal authority" such as would be organized by a sheriff in times of need. In casual or slang usage, it also refers to a group of friends or associates. It's this latter meaning (usually combined with the definite article "the" and a capital "P") in which it's used to refer to Ben's seven goblins.

The Posse consists of Sheldon (intellect), Velvet (inner child), Slick (machismo/cool), Gunther (hostility), Zoot (wild side), Morty (negativity), and Piff (inspiration).

Unconfirmed Information

In the original incarnation of this webcomic, Under the Lemon Tree, certain facts were stated that have not so far been repeated, changed, or made irrelevant in the retconned version. These include:

• On at least two occasions, the Posse was able to present scenes and images from Ben's past via a movie projector.
