Practitioners

Practitioners of artificing are called artifactors or artificers

Specialties

Artifactors in training at Sanctuary City's College of Artifactors can specialize in a myriad of subcategories in artificing, including architecture, bulk alchemy, civic engineering, finishing detail, jewelry, heavy machinery, metallurgy, and watchworks. Alternately, an artifactor can choose to become the artifactor's equivalent of a smallmage with the Golden Wrench, a comprehensive course of training in everything from earthmoving to fine luxcraft.

Gender roles

Education and training in artificing, as in all disciplines in Antillia, has been open to all, regardless of gender or family background, for a couple of generations. However, certain expectations linger:

Females generally specialize in delicate fields, such as jewelry or finishing work on crafts and artifacts. Males generally specialize in more macro fields, such as metallurgy or civic engineering.
